Project: Literally Lost
CASTING CALL:
20's, male presenting (full character description below)
POV Filmmakers, a Portland/Vancouver nonprofit that works to provide resources and connect independent filmmakers is currently casting for a project coming up next month.
While this is a super low budget project, it will be rich in experience and opportunity to learn alongside experienced actors and filmmakers (I know, I wish it was guaranteed payment too). I would appreciate you forwarding this to any young actors you know who might be interested in portraying a 20's male described below.
Casting Call: 6-short episode web series This is our last role to cast and so we are looking to cast ASAP This is non-union, and deferred payment role. Fundraising is currently in process and final payment will depend on the money raised. Our goal is to raise enough money to feed the cast/crew and pay everyone equally. Payment is not guaranteed as it is based on the funds we receive. The Role: Dabriel Gillman, early 20s, is a reclusive genius who works remotely as a geological data analyst from his overprotective mother’s home. He spent his childhood immersed in online games and rock collecting, his potential smothered by a life of caution. Plagued by anxiety, asthma, and a tangle of health issues, Dabriel clings to a strict medication schedule and avoids social interactions, convinced the outside world is too dangerous. While his intellect could change lives, his dependence on his mother and fear of the unknown leave him trapped, caught between his passion for science and the prison of his own making.
AUDITION PROCESS:
Request sides, complete a self tape and submit the self tape. Deadline is ASAP, this is our last role to cast. You might be the perfect actor! POV Filmmakers is a nonprofit organization that is all about building community, collaboration, and education for indie film actors and crews in the Portland/Vancouver WA area. We created a writer’s room and wrote this web series with the sole purpose of giving our members a project to create--to give them experience in different crew jobs for their resumes and to give them IMDB credits. Each episode is between 10-12 minutes long and will take two days to shoot for a total of 12 shooting days spread out on five weekends from the end of July to September. Two shooting days per 10-minute episode.
Since this is an ensemble cast, all actors will be called for all shooting days. There isn't much flexibility in these dates, but if you have some minor conflicts and want to do the project, please let me know and we can see what we can do. Shoot days will be kept to 8 hours, with food provided. We will be filming outdoors.
Episode 1: July 27 and 28
Episode 2: August 7 and 8
Episode 3: August 9 and 10
Episode 4: September 13 and 14
Episode 5: September 21 and 22
Episode 6: September 26 and 27
Additional days for pick up shots (if needed): September 28 and 29.
NOTE: We also have these additional dates in case one of our actors has a conflict and we need to shift shooting dates. Please let us know if you have any conflicts with any of the dates.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested. We are happy to answer any questions or concerns.
Thank you for considering this!
